P's Filector

[deutsch]

This program allows to download series of files from the internet.

I use to download a larger number of files (HTML pages, pictures, movies) from the internet where the file names differ only in an embedded number. In addition some web servers allow download of files only if they are accessed from pages on the same server. And sometimes this access has to be shortly before.
A normal web grabber does not fulfill these needs as complete as necessary.

My solution to this problems is Filector (= file collector).

You give it the names of source file names, target file names and the referer to use, with marks where the counters have to be inserted, press button "Get it" and a little later you have the files on your local hardddisc.

Usage:

The program runs without installation.

You can get a short manual and the example from the picture above via menu entry "Help".
To change user agent name and proxy settings you use menu entry "File"/"Options".

Known Problems:

The program can handle interrupted downloads so far and tries to continue them. But it is currently not able to resume aborted downloads.

Only protocol HTTP supported.

In Version 2.0 the program was not able to gain access to directories and files protected by .htaccess.
